some research was in order to see if there was any
worthwhile advice and help on the net.

So for any one about to plunge into the same dark place,
below is a brief summary of what was learned.

The first thing needed to be determined was if the valves were working.
By taking three 9 volt batteries and putting them together,
you can create a simple device to test the valves :)
.

27 Volt Tester
.
.
Once all the Valves are fixed and tested,
it was time to tackle the wires running from the control box.
After minimal success with the Multimeter to test and ID the wires,
a quick trip to Lowes and a new Continuity Tester.

To test and match the wires,
the Transmitter goes on one end of the wires.
Line ID
.
.
Then the receiver goes on the other end of the wires.
Sensor ID
.
.
If the two wires are not matched, the light is Red
and you now know they are reversed.
Red Bad
.
.
If the two wires are correctly matched the light is Green.
Green Good
.
.
Now you can match and label the wires at both ends
Label
.
.
Connect the wires to the valves with
Outdoor / Water proof Connectors
Water Cap
.
.
Test all the circuits one last time and
once your are sure everything is working great
Tape all the connectors with a pro grade electrical tape.
Final_Tape_Wrap
.
.
Close everything up and
Enjoy a Summer of Mowing a Green and Thriving Lawn  :)
